This world will drain you...
There will come a time when all of this will fade: the anxiety, the worry, the need for validation and recognition from others, poverty, sickness, depression....
At the end of the day, all of this will pass away: the anxiety, the worry, the need for validation and recognition from others, poverty, sickness, depression, politics, war, and drama. They will all be gone. At the end of the day, what will truly matter is that we know the Living God and have been saved by His grace.
This world will drain you, alright! If you don’t have a deep awareness of God, yourself, and the eternal picture, if you don’t constantly allow yourself to be anchored by the love of God, I’m afraid that you might become enslaved to the myriad burdens of this fleeting life. I took the time to find out the biggest struggles people often face in life. These include financial struggles, internal struggles (past trauma), physical challenges, societal pressures, work-related stress, as well as existential concerns. Sometimes we walk past each other, and share a fake smile, but have no clue of the heavy turmoil raging in the other person’s heart.

“Life is tough, but so are you!” they say, but I can tell you right now there’s so much and no more you can do in your own strength to overcome the vast burdens of this unpredictable life.
We need God, and not just on Sundays, but every day. We were designed for God.
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” —John 16:33 NIV.
Jesus offers peace that the world can never give. His peace is rooted in His EVERLASTING victory over sin and this fallen world. He reminds us that trials and troubles will come. Thus, expecting a smooth sailing life would be a bit delusional, dont you think?
The above quote is taken from the YouVersion Bible app.
It’s estimated that 280 million adults are suffering from depression worldwide, and that women are a little bit more depressed than men, according to the World Health Organization. They also noted that suicide is the fourth leading cause of death in 15–to 29-year-olds. The psychological factors that have been linked to depression include negative self-image, shame, unresolved grief, and feelings of helplessness. These findings merely show how much the human soul is aching. Maybe those unaddressed wounds are part of the reasons why so many men and women are choosing to stay alone and distrustful of one another. If you’re struggling with depression or suicidal thoughts, I encourage you to seek support now.
I see that there’s a growing desperation for healing and restoration. People want to feel well—emotionally, mentally, and eternally, including me. But I find that true wellness can’t happen outside of the Creator.
And the reason why I said that is very simple, yet mind-blowing!
Without God, the soul is disconnected from its Source of Life.
“You have made us for Yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in You.”—St. Augustine
And since God is the source of life and life Himself, and Who fashioned even our innermost parts, crafting man in His image for His glory, who would have thought that we could find lasting fulfillment apart from Him? No way. Real soul care begins at the feet of Jesus. And in Him, we are healed and restored as reminded by Isaiah, “But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5 ESV).
Again, walking with God doesn’t mean we won’t face troubles and disappointments in this world. However, it does mean we should TRUST God at all times, remain OBEDIENT, and be THANKFUL in each season He places us in. It does mean NOT GIVING in to the fear of man, the fear of sickness and poverty, and war, and instead drawing closer to God. For He is deeply aware of our personal struggles and pain, and promises to heal and provide for those who fear Him.
“The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth. He fulfills the desires of those who fear Him; He hears their cry and saves them.”—Psalm 145:18–19 NIV

Picture a lily anchored to the hostile soil by its strong fibrous roots. The lily is you. So delicate, so loved, but vulnerable to spiritual attack, temptation, anxiety and fears. The hostile soil is the fallen world in which we live. It’s full of hardship, confusion, and pain. Sometimes it drains me. Often, it criticizes me. But the strong fibrous roots have kept me strong. The roots continue to nourish me in an intimate way that the world cannot. The roots describe the anchoring nature of God.
He’s my Anchor, and yours, too, in Whom we can take refuge. As women, we have to stay connected to God and His words, or else this world and our sinful tendencies will drag us down into confusion and compromise.
There will come a time when all of this will fade: the anxiety, the worry, the need for validation and recognition from others, poverty, sickness, depression, politics, war, and drama. They will all be gone. At the end of the day, what will truly matter is that we know the Living God and have been saved by His grace.
Blessings to you and your household❤️
The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;
my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.—Psalms 18:2 (NIV)

Amen, the Lord warned me, 'Stay in Me! Stay in Me!' This was on my way home from work to find a letter from my wife. She wrote me telling me she left with our youngest and wasn't coming back.
It was a great encouragement to know that the Lord cares deeply when we are in trouble. He walked with me tenderly through my greatest trial. This was after I had obeyed His voice to fast every lunch at work and spend the half hour with Him in the woods behind my workplace. When we make time for Him, He is there to train, strengthen, and equip us for life.
What a mighty God we have!!!!❤️❤️❤️
Ohhh, those are sweet words! He is worthy of our deepest love! Jesus suffered horribly to remove our judgment from us! How can we not pour ourselves completely out for Him by spending quality time with Him and serving the needy!
I want to be like the woman who was a sinner who visited Simon's house where Jesus was. Her heart gushed out with enormous love and gratitude towards Him. The best she could think of to thank him and show her love, was to pour her prized perfume over his feet like a slave to an honored guest. I want to kiss that woman! And so does Jesus! Jesus will be coming back for a bride that is longing, with an eager heart, for Him to return, so she can be with Him forever!!!
