when you decide to become a true woman of the King.
I would still be unknowingly and rebelliously drowning in idolatry and other sins I grew to accept because someone taught me they were good.
Why should I care about becoming her, that is, a true woman of God? What does true woman even mean? What is there to gain? What’s the point?
The answers to these questions lie in our view of God. If a woman sees God through a small, limiting, and confining lens, then she may believe that becoming the fullness of what God intends her to be is limiting, unfulfilling, less exciting, and not worth her time. However,
If she has an expansive view and understanding of God, then she may perceive pursuing God as the greatest and most delightful adventure of her life.

In today’s post, I’m sharing four wholesome reasons for women to become true women of God.
1. You Embody Truth
Aspire to become a true woman, as true women know God’s truth.
And what exactly is the truth? Almost 2000 years ago, before His arrest, Jesus declared an incredible statement to Pontius Pilate,
“I am the truth” (John 14:6).
CHRIST IS THE TRUTH, THE WAY, AND THE BREAD OF LIFE, AND FOLLOWING LIES HAVE DEVASTATING CONSEQUENCES.

The world continues to bombard women with lies at an alarming rate. Some of its so-called “truths” often include:
“Follow your heart; your inner-self is the best compass for making life decisions.”
“Live as you please; personal happiness is the highest good.”
“Your life is in your hands; you are the master of your fate, girl!”
“The European standard of beauty is the only true standard of beauty for women.”
“Being forever 21, independent, rich, and popular is the true fulfillment for women.”
“Your body, your choice.”
“Modesty and chastity are out of fashion, girl.”
“Motherhood and housekeeping are demeaning tasks; get yourself a real job, girl.”
In light of these lies, it matters GREATLY that Christian women become true women of God so that we don’t fall into these secular traps.
A woman who pursues God discovers His ABSOLUTE TRUTH.
When she holds fast to His truth regarding her worth, identity, sexuality, womanhood, and purpose, she becomes an unstoppable force.
A true woman knows exactly how to stand her ground in a deceitful world, simply by choosing to embody and exercise the inerrant words of God.
2. You Become a Godly Role Model
Here’s a little background on my childhood life.
I didn't grow up in a Christian household. I grew up in a culture that supports Rastafarianism and opposes Christianity. As a child, I was taught how to operate as a true Rasta woman. The closest I came to knowing God was during devotional sessions at school or the few times I visited my grandmother’s church. Aside from that, I had no consistent presence of authentic womanhood rooted in the truth of God.
If Christ had not adopted me a few years back, I would still be unknowingly and rebelliously drowning in idolatry and other sins I grew to accept because someone believed they were true and good.
Reinforcing my first point, TRUTH IS LIFE (John 14:6).
A father who embraces false doctrines leads his children to stray. Likewise, a mother who embodies falsehoods is ill-preparing her children for heaven.
When I was younger, I searched for true women to be my role models. I once admired two rich and famous women, whom I believed were the ideal women to follow:
The first celeb I thought was a true Christian until I realized she mixes Christianity with paganism and new age practices.
The second woman was confident, talented, and seemed to have everything perfectly together: fame, talent, wealth, house, kids, husband, etc. The Holy Spirit later convicted me to not exalt, esteem, or hold someone as a role model who glorifies evil, promotes self-worship, and degeneracy.
Reflecting on this time in my life made me realize how much young girls are searching for role models.
They’re searching for women who represent them and whose footsteps they can follow. They're searching for women who made it, who would inspire them to become the best and truest versions of themselves.
YOUNG GIRLS ARE LOOKING FOR TRUE WOMEN.
Sadly, many of us looked in the wrong direction toward women who are ungodly, self-exalting, and wimpy. I pray that when these girls are out searching, particularly those whom we love the most, they will find true women of God to follow.
3. Your Soul Becomes Radiant
Become a true woman so that you may know what it’s like to experience a radiant soul. What does a radiant soul even look like?
A radiant soul is whole, alive, and content.
Do you think that you embody such a soul?
A recent study shows that despite gains in freedom and opportunities, modern women are more depressed, unhappy, and lonelier than ever before. The study suggests that women are unhappy because of the way society treats them. However,
I firmly believe that women are unhappy because we seek fulfillment in everything but God to satisfy our deepest longings.
Each woman is made in the image of God, and therefore, ONLY HE CAN SATISFY THE FEMININE SOUL.
"Then Jesus declared, ‘I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” John 6:35

I’m not saying that a woman pursuing God can or will never feel unhappy or depressed, for the human heart undergoes varied emotions from time to time.
But I’m saying that if most of the time you feel unhappy, depressed, angry, bitter, anxious, or frustrated, your heart may be set on things other than God, which will ultimately leave you aching.
"The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever." 1 John 2:17
When we, as God’s daughters, set our hearts on Him, He becomes our bread, and our souls become nourished and radiate outwardly.
A woman who allows her soul to be nurtured by God tends to give more, expressing greater compassion, love, joy, and gratitude. This is simply because
she recognizes that God abundantly fills her cup (soul) through their shared relationship, and from that overflowing cup, she cheerfully pours out to others.
"And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work." 2 Corinthians 9:8
Therefore, ladies, I implore you to desire to become a true woman so that you may know what it’s like to be utterly and intimately nourished by your Designer.
"But whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life." John 4:14
4. Cultivating Intimacy with God
Another compelling reason to desire to become a true woman is to
personally experience the true beauty of loving and being loved by your Father.
Here’s a truth, ladies: Deep within, we yearn for a fatherly influence in our lives—someone who can protect, provide, lead us, and with whom we can grow.
We innately desire to please, serve, and seek recognition from this ‘fatherly figure,’ which oftentimes becomes our husbands.
Sadly, many women are suffering from father wounds. Many have fathers who neglected, abandoned, or abused them during their youth. Though many of us would love for that broken or shallow relationship we share with our dads to be mended (and I say if you can, go all in!), here’s another shocking truth:
No matter how impeccable or broken a relationship a woman shares with her dad or husband, she will still feel empty if she’s looking to them for ultimate fulfillment instead of her greater Father/Husband above.
It’s exceptional to share a meaningful relationship with either an earthly father/husband. God is the one who gave us that familial bonding desire. However, He is pointing us to a FAR GREATER REALITY CALLED ‘YADA’.
‘Yada’ is a Hebrew term meaning ‘to know intimately’. Therefore, a woman's greatest desire, whether she realizes it or not, is to KNOW & BE KNOWN BY GOD—to bond with her Maker in the most intimate way.
This truth might be difficult for some women to grasp at the moment, but as you carefully study the meaning of ‘being made in God’s image’, you’ll realize that only God can truly satisfy the feminine soul.
"My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?" Psalms 142:2
“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end." Ecclesiastes 3:11
And the most beautiful part of pursuing an intimate relationship with God is that HE DELIGHTS IN US.
He rejoices in our desire to know Him. He longs for His daughters to follow Him more than we could ever imagine!
"As a young man marries a young woman, so will your Builder marry you; as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you." - Isa 62:5
"The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing." Zephaniah 3:17:
So I encourage each woman reading this post to not strive to become any woman; instead, aspire to become a true woman.
In our latest free resource, “Know Your Designer, 17 Attributes of God Every Christian Woman Must Know,” I mentioned a few of the blessings a woman receives from cultivating intimacy with God. Some of these include:
Salvation
Intimacy & fellowship
You develop a greater sense of self-worth and purpose.

✨Conclusion
In wrapping up this post, let’s briefly recap the four powerful reasons to aspire to become a true woman of God. Let’s make the declarations! I’ll go first.
I, Ashaki, desire to become a true woman of God because:
Embodying truth: I want to be that girl who walks in God’s timeless truth for my body, sexuality, femininity, purpose, worth, and identity.
Being a godly role model: I want to be that girl whom other young girls can look up to for authentic womanhood. I want to pass on the baton of God’s truth to my daughters and granddaughters, and hopefully, they too will pass on God’s truth to their generation.
Fulfillment: I want to be that girl who is ultimately and eternally satisfied by God, and nothing else.
Intimacy with God: I want to be that girl who knows (yada) God, grows with, is tethered to, and fulfilled by Him.
Ultimately, becoming the truest version of what God desires of you is a WORK IN PROGRESS.
It’s a journey of continuous growth in faith, character, obedience to God’s will, and putting aside the sinful self and allowing the Holy SPIRIT to take priority.
Do you want to become a true woman of God? If yes, explore the meaning behind your desire. Grab a paper and pen and write out 3-5 reasons for desiring to become this woman, and why becoming her matters to you.
Our God is worthy to be known, followed, and praised! There is no loss in becoming one of His! It’s all gains!
